The high-performance, electric powered Razor MX650 Dirt Rocket is ideal for teens (ages 16 and up) who want to enjoy an authentic dirt bike experience without breaking the bank. The Dirt Rocket's powerful motor carries riders at speeds of up to 17 miles per hour - more than enough for most bumpy dirt trails - and can cruise for up to 10 miles (or 40 minutes) on a single charge. At the same time, the bike's dual suspension and riser handlebars deliver a smooth and comfortable ride regardless of the terrain, so the fun isn't restricted to flat pavement. As a final bonus, the Dirt Rocket's variable-speed, chain-driven motor is extremely quiet, a marked contrast to traditional gas-powered motocross bikes.
Other details include 16- and 14-inch pneumatic knobby tires for a maximum power transfer, authentic dirt bike frame geometry, Supercross inspired design, and folding metal foot pegs. The MX650, which requires roughly eight hours to fully charge, offers a maximum weight limit of 140 pounds. It's also backed by a 90-day warranty.

Razor MX650 Dirt Rocket - The Yellow and Black Razor MX650 Dirt Rocket scaled down dirt bike design carries riders up to 220 lbs at speeds up to 17 mph. It is equipped with large 14in and 16in pneumatic knobby tires for maximum power transfer. The Razor MX650 has all the great features of the Razor MX500 Dirt Rocket, but has a more powerful 650 watt motor and has a higher maximum rider weight which makes the Razor Dirt Rocket MX650 high performance electric motocross bike perfect for ages 16 and up not to exceed 220 pounds. The chain driven, variable speed motor gives the Razor MX650 its kick, but because the bike is electric, the motor is super quiet; a distinct advantage over the other gas-driven and noisy scaled down dirt bikes.
Our two boys used all their bday money from the last two years to get these, we have a cash-out option in place in lieu of a party, The bikes came on-time, easy to assemble, initial charge of 18 hrs and they simply plug them back in when they done riding. They love these bikes and I was pleasantly surprised by the quality. The wife and I sneak in a ride here there too, they're fun!
I am a mother of a 10 year old son and I was able to assemble and follow the directions easily. I did exactly what the directions said and everything has gone great. My son drives it almost every day and has not had any problems. This site had the cheapest price [...] Overall a great experience.

We bought this for my son on his 10th birthday, and we couldn't be happier. He had a pocket rocket, but I actually feel safer with him riding this one because it fits him better. I really do not think that a child would need to be 12 to get this; he is average height and weight and he rides it very well. He was thrilled and loves to ride it.
We recently purchased '2' MX650 dirt bikes for our 11yr old girl and 13 yr old boy....wow they are a hit. The kids have no problem handling the bikes that were thoughtfully designed with reasonable power, solid construction and alot of fun. Today we tried them on solid dirt roads and wooded trails, they performed well and seemed balanced for moderate off road crusing. The only disappointment is the battery charge time, although they do charge faster than the 12 hours stated in the owners manual. Enjoy...and wear a helment!
This is a great toy, my son got it for his 11th B-day and about jumped out of his chair with excitment. He only weights 65 lbs and can handle it great but he is a very good bike and skateboard, skater and has no fear. My 8 year old daughter is riding it now too and went slow at first and now she's zipping around too. My 14 year old put the bike together it took about an hour and he is very mechanical minded and it was challenging. They and I have rode it and it's really fun that's why I decided on the 650 for the weight and size is the same as the 550 I would go for the 650 my 14 and 17 yr old love it. It runs for one hour on a full charge good and fast but then needs recharging for 12 hours but that's ok it gives my yard a chance to recooperate. I would recommend this to any one who wants to give a really special toy to a kid who likes to be a dare devil and will get his money out of this toy. The smiles will not end. Use a helmet and knee pads. The best present ever (that's my son's words)
This bike is a blast to drive...we live in a very close neighborhood and we're always going to and from each others' houses. Now, we simply hop on and cruise on over...comes in handy when you forget something back at the house!
Price at drugstore.com was awesome!
Now, unfortunately the cons...neighbor has a MX-500 and the only difference b/t it and my MX-650, besides the color, is the motor (500W vs. 650W). However, with the same weight on each bike, the MX-500 accelerates quicker than my MX-650 (even though they both have essentially the same top speed of 17 mph)...hard to swallow because essentially I paid a premium for a slower bike with a different color (even though mine SHOULD accelerate faster). Probably just a manufacture's defect that Razor will hopefully address (warrenty on bikes is 90 days).
Other tidbits: Bike shipped with slightly bent front/back brake rotors that tend to slow down the bike because they rub the brake pads...brake adjustments with the calipers are inadeaquate and releasing the tension in the brake line to the point that the bent rotors don't rub the brake pads results in too little braking force for safe driving.
Bike shipped with stickers already in place...cool! However, the stickers were already peeling off the bike when I opened it and continue to do so now...not cool.
For a bike with such aggressive dirt-oriented tires, it sure bogs down going through grass or dirt let alone up any sort of hill. One exects more from a bike that retails for over $500...
Bright spot: charger included has a green/red light that indicates the charging status...plus, it will automatically shut charging off after awhile to prevent damage to the battery.
I have been in contact with Razor concering the acceleration issues and they have been great to deal with so far. That is why I can still recommend this bike in spite of the hiccups I've had with it. Still a blast...especially at drugstore.com's price!
